"The Green Jobs Act" was written by John, with his co-sponsor, now Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, and it has been funded as part of a drive to prepare and place Massachusetts and 6th District residents  into innovative industry jobs in the alternative energy and efficiencies fields. His colleagues have entrusted him with a lead position as the Congress works to reauthorize the nation's primary job-training and skill development legislation, the Workforce Investment Act. Coupled with his efforts in moving the COMPETES Act in 2007, it will help place people in jobs from PhDs, engineers and designers to installers and assemblers.
